Help Fight the Proposed Toronto Home Buying Tax - Our Help is Crucial!

Your help is needed! The City of Toronto wants to charge a second land transfer tax that would NOW double the current provincial land transfer tax. This could serioulsy impact real estate markets and have an impact on our economy. The proposal is moving forward quickly so it is critical that City Council hear from you NOW. City Council is scheduled to vote on this proposal in mid-July.

The City of Toronto is considering a tax on home buyers that could cost the average person an extra $4,200, or more, when they purchase a home. That is a 100 per cent increase in land transfer taxes! For current home owners, this could hurt your property's value. YOU CAN HELP STOP THE TORONTO HOME BUYING TAX!  To send an email to Mayor Miller and all City Councillors telling them your opinion of this tax go to http://www.nohomebuyingtax.com/    and click the top link under "Take Action".

Real estate transactions, and the revenues generated from all of the associated business involved in these transactions (from stagers, to lawyers, to mortgage specialists, to movers, to renovators - contractors and their downstream industries...) are a HUGE part of our economy in Toronto.  This new proposed land transfer tax could have a serious impact - much further reaching than the above-mentioned personal cost.  Please send an email before July 15.  Thanks!
